Inaugurated on 27 May 2013, on National Resistance Day, the Museum is on Place de la Fontaine Reboul, Rue Raspail.
It retraces the historical events of the Second World War in and around Pernes with the following guiding themes:
- The German occupation
- The creation of the local branch of the Armée Secrète Resistance fighters under Gabriel Moutte, and of the F.T.P.F. Jean Robert maquis group by Danton Millet
- The massacre of five young Resistance fighters by the Nazis, on 2 August 1944 in Barbarenque, near Le Beaucet
- The liberation of the region
The museum has a permanent exhibition about the local Resistance.
The Pernes committee of the National Association of Veterans and Friends of the Resistance (ANACR) invites visitors to come and learn more about this period in our history and the values of citizenship and solidarity upheld by the Resistance.
More information about the Resistance can be found on the ANACR website.
